Best outdoor spots for families in Sligo

So the weather has gotten a bit better and we're all seizing the opportunity to get outdoors with the children. Luckily for us in Sligo there are no shortage of things to do or places to see, so here are some of the best places in Sligo to get outdoors with kids and enjoy the fantastic scenery it has to offer.

Gleniff Horseshoe

Explore the millsite at Gleniff Horseshoe and nature trails, then drive round the horseshoe. Look out for the magic hill too!

The Sligo Way

For families with older children for a bit of a challenge the Sligo Way is a 74km, long-distance walking trail.

It is divided here into 7 sections each representing a half day's walking. The trail starts at Lough Talt and ends in Dromahair.

Lough Gill 

With Lough Gill, Lough Arrow & the coastline too so we are spoiled for choice when it comes to getting on the water! You can choose to sail, surf, canoe, kayak, swim ..... it's endless.

Doorly Park

This is a brilliant park just on the Cleveragh Road. It has:

• a playground
• a court,
• green area
• games
• fitness equipment.

Fun for all! You can then go for a stroll along Lough Gill and feed the ducks!
