Charity Jack and Jill Children's Foundation

The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation provides direct funding, to families of children with brain damage who suffer severe intellectual and physical developmental delay, enabling them to purchase home respite care. These are children who as a result of their condition require intensive home nursing care. The Foundation gives these families the Gift of time, time to do the things that we so often take for granted like shopping, taking their other children to the park, a night’s sleep etc.

Jack & Jill is facing a serious shortfall in its funding due to a drop in public donations and failure to secure the full €1.35 HSE grant it requires for 2011, regardless of the rock solid economic argument for more State funding for Jack & Jill which saves the HSE millions every year by keeping children warm and cosy and well cared for in their own home rather than in hospital (see Trinity Report) .  Jack & Jill wrote to its families recently informing them of a 30% cut in their hours funded by Jack & Jill from 1st January 2011.
