We all know when we go out to eat with children that it can be a nightmare. Not enough room for a buggy. Deep fried food on the kids menu. No changing area for babies. I'm bored! Sometimes it just isn-t worth the hassle. Here is a list of some of my favourite child friendly restaurants in Limerick who removes some of the problems. The RTE's The Afternoon Show are approving restaurants throughout Ireland with ‘Improved Tasty and Healthy Menu For Kids’ sticker and charter in the restaurant where they provide healthy kids menus based on nutritional guidelines.

Voted as Best family restaurant in Limerick in the Mykidstime Awards 2010 as Great menu, friendly staff and very helpful for special requirements.  Indian background music creates atmosphere and the spicy theme is seen in the warm tones of the stylish modern decor and on promptly presented menus, which offer an unusual combination of Indian and Thai cuisine; however, there is a stronger leaning towards authentic Indian food than Thai, with a wide range of vegetarian dishes and, unusually, there are home-made ethnic Asian desserts. Seats 75, Children are welcome, toilets, wheelchair accessible, Air conditioning. Open Mon-Sat, 5pm-10.30pm.

 Any time I have been there I have always been happy with the food on the children's menu and they always offer colouring page and crayons and their art work could win you a dinner voucher to return so get them colouring.

 Milano Restaurant, Harvey's Quay, Limerick  "Improved Tasty and Healthy Menu for Kids".

Milano is the latest addition to the rejuvenated area of the Quays. The design of this restaurant is stunning in its simplicity, incorporating warm colours, oak floors and artwork commissioned from local art student Regina Corcoran. The design was also to maximise the restaurants view of the Shannon by incorporating a mezzanine seating area which is proving extremely popular with diners. They always try to accommodate the little members of your clan, whether by finding room for Teddy in a high chair, or just making sure dessert comes with that all-important extra splurge of cream. They prepare for them the same good food that the adults get, but in smaller, more manageable portions. Kids Piccolo menu: 3 courses €8.60. Baby changing facilities available in restaurant.

The French Table, 1, Steamboat Quay Limerick Co Limerick

The French Table is a riverside restaurant just a short distance along from the Clarion Hotel. Views over the river add to the calm ambience, and welcoming staff are quick to make arriving guests feel at home. A la carte menus are offered at both lunches an dinner. Excellent service too – efficient, informative and courteous. Open in the evenings and for lunch, when the roast beef sandwich with sautéed potatoes (€9) has to be the best value meal in town. Savoy Restaurant, City Central, Henry Street, Limerick City

Bob and Ruth DiGirolamo's American bakeshop and cafe opened in 2001 (with a Bridgestone award each year) in the heart of Limerick city on High Street in the historic Market Quarter. The Wild Onion is featured in the Rough Guide and the MTV guide to Ireland. Open Tuesday-Friday from 8 till 4 and on Saturdays from 9 till 3. Though it’s not pram friendly or no changing facility available, your kids will enjoy their delicious Break fast, lunch and sweets.
